So What?
A granddaughter's bleak search for closure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She caught a glimpse of white as a nurse ran past her, and then she was left to her own devices once again. At first, Clara had felt like hiding every time she saw hospital personnel, sure she’d be thrown out for breaking the rules. She needn’t have worried. The hospital staff was so overwhelmed that even the patients weren’t guaranteed attention. It was unlikely they’d waste their time on a healthy-looking ambulatory specimen.

Trivia
"So What?" is one of the few stories I've written that are set in the real world, though the locations I described in the story are a mesh of places I'm familiar with. Inspired by real events, some of the things mentioned came from news articles about the dire situation and utter chaos some cities were facing at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
